The QDTA is a local of the British Columbia Teachers’ Federation (BCTF – Local 28).

September 30th - Truth and Reconciliation Day

September 30th is a day to commemorate the tragic legacy of residential schools in Canada.  A time to reflect on the past while creating actions that strengthen relationships for the future.  Understanding the truth is a vital first step in building a solid foundation for education and healing.  On September 30th, wear an orange shirt to show that Every Child Matters.

The BCTF has a number of resources around Orange Shirt Day.  They can be found on the BCTF website Aboriginal Education page.
