Member Services


The QDTA supports members whenever there is any issue of concern. When members contact the union, all conversations are confidential. We welcome calls and will refer members to appropriate services and resources. The services we provide include:
  • mediation
  • advocacy
  • information about rights and responsibilities and benefits
  • professional development
  • health and safety support
  • opportunities for involvement 
  • social events
  • classroom support

QDTA Scholarship and Bursary Information
Each year the QDTA offers two scholarships and two bursaries to School District 28 students.

Scholarships
  • Florence Pegues Memorial Scholarship
  • Tom Rafferty Memorial Scholarship
To be eligible an applicant must be the son or daughter of, or a person under the legal guardianship of, an active QDTA member or a person who retired as an active QDTA member; and must have a minimum of a B Grade Point Average in the subjects required for graduation calculated as per the standards used by the QDTA Scholarship Committee.

The criteria for selection shall be the highest GPA, service to the community (including school), and the merits of the student's personal plan, in that order.

The QDTA reserves the right to divide the scholarship between more than one deserving applicant.

Bursaries
  • Rosemary Ault Memorial Bursary
  • Sandy Moret Memorial Bursary
To be eligible for a bursary, an applicant must be the son or daughter of, or a person under the legal guardianship of, an active QDTA member or a person who retired as an active QDTA member; and must have a minimum of a C+ Grade Point Average in the subjects required for graduation calculated as per the standards used by the QDTA Scholarship Committee.

The criteria for selection shall be financial need, GPA, service to the community (including school), and the merits of the students' personal plan, in that order.

All bursary applications must be accompanied by parents'/guardians'/common law partners/ T4 slips.

The QDTA reserves the right to divide the bursary between more than one deserving applicant.

How to Apply:
In order for students to apply, they need to get the Scholarships, Bursaries, and Awards Application from Correlieu, or print it online on the Correlieu Secondary School website under Grad & Post Secondary.

This plan helps BCTF members that are ill, injured or otherwise disabled from working.
